HOLOCAUST EDUCATION

Kati Preston with Governor Chris Sununu
Former Governor Chris Sununu and Kati Preston

Teaching children about the Holocaust is vital for preserving the memory of one of the darkest periods in history and for ensuring that its lessons are never lost. By learning about the consequences of hatred, prejudice, and silence, young people gain the tools to recognize injustice, uphold human dignity, and speak out against discrimination in all its forms.

Even in her eighties, Kati Preston continues to travel to schools, year after year, to share her powerful story of survival during the Hungarian Holocaust. With humour and honesty, she connects deeply with kids, inspiring them to embrace tolerance, acceptance, and the healing power of forgiveness. But her efforts don’t stop there. Along with the former Governor of New Hampshire, Chris Sununu, she succeeded in getting Bill HB115 passed to make Holocaust education compulsory in New Hampshire schools. Other regions are following suit. In Canada, Ontario became the first province to mandate Holocaust education in Grade 6 starting in 2023, with an expansion to Grade 10 in 2025 that includes antisemitism, extremist ideologies, and contemporary relevance.

To help Kati share her powerful story with young people, we created two curriculums: one around our docudrama HIDDEN – The Kati Preston Story, and the other around Kati's award-winning graphic novel, HIDDEN: A True Story of the Holocaust. Recognizing both the challenges and importance of Holocaust education, we partnered with Tom White, a leading educator in Holocaust and genocide studies, to create comprehensive Teacher Guides offering clear structure and invaluable insights for each lesson. The curriculum is accessible and aligns to universal design and differentiated instructional principles. Our hope is that students not only learn history, but connect with it in a way that is meaningful, emotional, and unforgettable.

Every student deserves the chance to learn from Kati’s story. That’s why we’re providing the Teacher Guides at zero cost and deep discounts on the film and online version of Kati’s novel, which includes audio and closed captions for accessibility. We’re also fundraising to help subsidize under-resourced schools whenever possible so that cost is never the reason a child misses out on these valuable curriculums. If Kati’s story moved you, learn how you can help bring it to others.

These curricula are currently in pilot testing and will officially launch in September 2026. If you have questions or would like to be part of the pilot program, please feel free to reach out to us by using the form on our Contact Us page. Your message will be delivered directly to our team.
